Intentions/New Year
Happy New Year and here’s to new intentions for making life what we want it to be in 2024! So, do you set some resolutions? I go for intentions just because I’m weird that way. There’s something about setting an intention that feels like spending my energy creating what I want in life.
I make a list of intentions so that I stay focused on the writing projects in the works. I also set some intentions related to daily habits I create for myself and the things I want to do to grow my heart. Each week, I review my list of intentions and document my progress. This helps me see where I need to make adjustments in my focus, so I’m staying on track with where I want to be at the end of the year. I know. It takes a little effort, but 10-15 minutes a week isn’t so bad in the large scheme of things.
And then, life happens. There’s always something. The dryer quits working, an aging parent needs a helping hand, and sometimes more play is called for. I do my best to define intentions with wiggle room for life to happen. Life is important, so it’s worth making adjustments to keep relationships moving in the direction I desire. I also ensure the heart of who I am receives the attention she deserves. Intentions with wiggle room. I like that!
Inquiring minds want to know. What’s your method for steering your aspirations in the direction you desire? I found this article from Psychology Today that you might find useful: Self-Awareness and Setting Intentions.
In the meantime, I hope your 2024 is off to a GREAT start, and I’m looking forward to navigating this year with intention, purpose, and play!
