How do you manage when life says, “Stop?!” The dreams and aspirations I had for 2025 were all on track for the first half of the year. Suddenly, though, in the last half of the year, life screamed stop! Nothing I planned for stayed on track, and a new sort of path demanded my attention. What’s a person to do?
Continue ReadingLoving myself today because I give myself time to pause when I need to.
Have you ever raced through your morning only to feel drained by noon? I certainly did for years. However, everything shifted once I started honoring those quiet signals from within.
This simple choice now anchors my emotional intelligence and deepens my self-compassion. Moreover, it creates space for genuine presence instead of constant doing. For example, a five-minute breath between tasks clears mental fog and restores calm focus.
Additionally, pausing prevents small irritations from snowballing into bigger emotional storms. Consequently, I show up more grounded for family, work, and even myself.
Loving myself today since I give myself time to pause when I need to.
- It resets my nervous system so anxiety loses its grip
- It invites fresh perspectives that spark creative solutions
- It reinforces self-worth by proving my needs truly matter
Furthermore, these intentional breaks weave mindfulness into ordinary moments. Meanwhile, old patterns of overextending fade away naturally. Therefore, I move through my day with lighter energy and clearer boundaries.
In the end, loving myself today feels authentic because I listen first. You deserve that same gentle attention too. Start small today and watch how self-love blooms when you give yourself time to pause when you need to.
I enjoy feeling understood. Don’t you? Understood is an emotion that we all yearn for, to be heard, to be seen, to be understood. When one of my friends or someone in my family ‘gets me’, I feel understood. When I read a book that describes me or how I feel, there’s a connection that happens between me and the author. I feel seen and understood.
The absence of this emotion can surely lead to moments of despair; a reason I like to step outside of my box and meet someone where they are. Doing that helps the other person to feel understood and connected.
When I was in the corporate world, I experienced a sense of having to put myself aside to fit into the corporate culture. When I stepped outside of that boundary, I experienced negative effects. Why is that? Why does the corporate culture have to be ‘just so’ in a way that sometimes excludes or ‘misunderstands’ people? We were all after the same corporate goals, but for whatever reason, getting there on any path outside of the defined or ‘accepted’ path is frowned upon. I wonder how many corporations would experience leaps of success if they could open their ‘boxes’ even a little bit.
Alas, we are here to talk about feeling understood. I imagine understood to look like a puzzle piece that fits together to complete a picture. Or maybe simply feeling genuinely loved. When I feel understood, I feel accepted, like I’m part of the pack. My body hums with harmony. Such an important emotion, as we explore what it means to relate to one another.
I see you. You are heard and understood. Do you, and remember one little soul posting blogs about feelings sends you a bucket of understanding. It’s not a clinical dissertation, but isn’t this a great little emotion?

Lately, the world moves so quickly that I often forget the simple power of sound. Moreover, stepping away from tasks for even a short while invites deep restoration. Consequently, melodies wrap around my thoughts and gently ease tension from my shoulders.
When I close my eyes and let a favorite song fill the room, emotions rise softly like old friends. Furthermore, rhythms sync with my breath and create space where worries fade into the background. However, it sometimes feels indulgent until I remember how necessary this nourishment truly is.
Additionally, music has become my trusted companion during both joyful and difficult seasons. Therefore, I return to daily life feeling more centered and alive.
Give yourself permission to pause with music
Yet, distractions constantly compete for attention in modern routines. Nevertheless, claiming these pauses honors the soul’s need for beauty and reflection. For instance, a soulful piano piece can transport me to peaceful memories instantly. Similarly, upbeat melodies lift my energy when motivation feels low.
- Give yourself permission to pause and listen to music daily to reduce stress and enhance emotional clarity.
- Permission to pause and listen to music nurtures self-care while boosting creativity and inner peace.
- Pause and listen to music by giving yourself full permission for mindful moments that restore balance and joy.
Furthermore, this practice deepens my appreciation for subtle shifts in mood and energy. Thus, I feel more connected to my inner world with every note. In addition, exploring new artists or old favorites through intentional listening enriches the entire experience beautifully.
Ultimately, give yourself permission to pause and listen to music because these moments weave harmony into everyday chaos. Therefore, why not press play right now and surrender fully? After all, music carries healing vibrations that remind us of our shared humanity and invite profound presence in the here and now.
What does Fear look like? To me, it looks like someone hiding from something or someone. It looks like a bird that takes flight when I walk too close or an animal that jumps upon hearing something startling. I sometimes do things because I am afraid of a certain outcome and choose to do something different so as not to elicit the feared conclusion or consequence.
Fear feels like running away or intentionally avoiding something. I feel it in my muscles because they tense up to somehow try to protect me. Sometimes I feel it in my gut, like a warning message. I feel fear when I’m outdoors, or camping in stormy weather. My fear comes from a place of wanting to feel safe.
What is the function of Fear? Oh, this is a big one! It functions in some circumstances to warn me of impending danger. Other times, it functions to keep me hidden from sight for one reason or another. Sometimes fear functions from a position of perspective, because I got a certain unwanted response as a result of something I said or how I said it.
I think, ultimately, fear is looking out for my best interests, and it wants me to feel safe and loved. Perhaps when I feel it, I can determine if it is protecting me, or if it is helping me to avoid or run away from something. If I’m avoiding, then I can acknowledge it and allow my fear to give me a big ol’ teddy bear hug. Then maybe I can listen to it with different ears and act accordingly.
Here is a permission slip for you to explore fear. It’s okay to do this in small incremental steps. Try a little short step. What does fear look like to you? How does it feel to you? What is fear’s function? How might you tweak it to work on your behalf?
Part of being human is being aware of all of our feelings…
