However, many of us forget to offer ourselves such tender care. We push through evenings without pausing to nurture what truly helps us unwind. Still, small rituals make all the difference imaginable.

Additionally, this practice reminds me how safety begins within our own choices each night. Therefore, I wake feeling refreshed and more grounded than before. Meanwhile, the heart softens as worries drift away like clouds on a gentle breeze.

One way I invite creativity into my life is to consider things backwards or upside down. Okay, Alexis – what do you mean by that?
Step into my fantasy for a moment. You’re in a movie theater waiting for the movie to begin. As you observe other patrons arriving for the feature, you notice they are all walking backwards toward their seats. They don’t need to turn their heads funny; they know exactly where to go, like they have eyes in the back of their heads. The popcorn popper is upside down and the popped corn floats to the top instead of settling into the bottom of the popper.
What just happened in your mind? Did any of these images stir new points to ponder? Those movie goers, once settled into their seats, the chairs turn upside down and they are all watching the screen upside down. Or, perhaps the picture on the screen is running backwards from the end to the beginning. How would your movie experience be different?
When our boys were younger, we used to play this game to stretch our imaginations. Think about what we would look like and how our clothes are different if our arms are where our ears are and our noses are where our belly buttons are perfectly situated. Now there are some creative ideas for new clothing. (She laughs out loud!)
The next time you’re stuck on a problem, give it a whirl. Step outside of what you think of a normal solution, and try a little backward and upside-down thinking. See what pops into your head when you try something un-ordinary. You have permission to experiment with crazy-silly ideas. Be bold enough to put your shirt on inside out or wear two different shoes or socks.

In this letter, I was seeking guidance about being sure I get enough water to drink every day and I wanted some support in creating new routines of physical movement.
Dear Discombobulated Alexis Full of Love,
I feel you. I see you. AND I see your power-full choices bubbling up to help you. Take the conscious time to revel in all your choices. Be intentional and snag all the possibilities that work in your favor. Drink the water and move your body. See yourself moving with agility and ease. Practice moments at a time, and celebrate the enormous power within you.
Running away and hiding is one option, and a necessary one at times. However, so is running toward something. Not to worry! I’ll run with you and bring my loving, kind smile to share with you along the way.
I love you! Feel me, see me… I am with you every step of the way. Give yourself a nice, refreshing drink of water, and then let’s move together. Consequently, holding you in my heart – I’m your truest friend. Furthermore, no need to rush – let’s experience life moment by moment together and make harmony in your energy.

What?!!! How on earth can fear be a gift?
Fear is present in our lives, sometimes, to give us a much-needed warning. When we listen to it, from that perspective, it can protect us and keep us safe. That is a gift.
Other times, fear is scary and can cause us to respond in ways that perhaps we’d like to change. For example, you might be fearful about having a conversation with your boss or colleague.
